Good morning guys, I would say bright and early but it’s 6 o’clock and pitch black outside. I decided to make this day a really productive one to get most work done before christmas in two days wuuaahh. In preperation for the festive days I already put together my christmas make-up look for this year. Normally I don’t really experiment with my make-up look, I’m wearing my thick eyeliner and nude lips all the time. But I decided to go for a more elegant look, with glowy skin, shimmery lids and a really deep burgundy lip. This make-up looks really good with a sleek hairstyle and chic outfits, like silk blouses or velvet dresses.
You can find a step by step tutorial in video and pictures as well as a list of all the products I used down bellow.

OK LET’S DO THIS
1. Flawless skin
Before I use my foundation I use the The Body Shop Tea Tree Pore Minimiser on my forehead and cheeks to make my pores invisible. For a flawless and airbrushed looking skin apply a foundation with high coverage with a wet sponge, my favorite is the L’oréal Indefectible Foundation in Nr. 145. Cover any blemishes and dark circles with a creamy concealer, I like to use the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in Nr. 15, which provides a really natural finish. Don’t powder you skin, since we want a really glowy and fresh looking face.
2. Prepare your lips
3. Shimmery lids
Use a golden creme eyeshadow for a base of this look, just use a thin layer and blend it really well. I like to take it towards the brow bone and underneath the eyes as well (really just the outer corner) for a smokey effect, I’m using Mac Paint Pot in Indianwood. To intensify the look and really smoke it out, I apply Mac Eyeshadow in Antiqued on the outer corner and the crease of the eyes and blend it well.
4. Make your eyes pop
To let your eyes look awake (even if they aren’t because of all the christmas trouble), use a eyelash curler and several coats of a volume mascara to open your eyes. For that necessary bling I apply a shimmery champagne colored shadow in the inner corners of the eyes, I used L’oréal mono eyeshadow in 206. To frame your face fill in your brows with a matte brown eyeshadow or brow powder for a natural finish. It’s your choice how you like your brows to be, I really adore the thick and full look (and unfortunately I have to fake it, since I have very light eyebrows). Afterwards I always use a brow gel to keep everything in place, I’m currently
using the Maybelline Brow Drama Mascara.
5. The Kim K part
Now to the (at least for me) most important step, the contouring. I contour my nose with a really dark make-up stick (Maybelline Fit Me Make-up Stick in Coconut) and a highlighter pen on the bridge of my nose (Catrice Eyebrow Lifter in 010) to make it appear slimmer. Than I apply my favorite bronzer, the L’oréal Glam Bronze Bronzer in Blonde Harmony, on my cheeks bones (yep the classic fish mouth is necessary to find the right place), the temples and down my neck for a natural contour and bronzed effect. To give your face a fresh look just use some blush on the apples of your cheeks (just a light swipe of color, because we’re using such a strong color later on the lips). For a really healthy glow I apply a powder highlighter, I trust in the Mac Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft & Gentle.
6. The highlight of the look
Which are the lips, I decided to give it a twist and go with a really dark burgundy color, since everybody is using a classic bright red lipstick during christmas time (don’t be like the rest of them darling ;)). I always use a lipliner first (Kiko Smart Lip Pencil in 710 Rouge Noir), I line my lips and fill them in so that the lipstick gets even more intensive and has a great base (my lipstick always looks great even after hours of eating and drinking). Take some time to do it, since a really dark color you have to be very precise because you can see every little mistake. After that I apply two layers of lipstick, I’m using the Kiko Luscious Cream Lipstick in 522 Black Cherry. To give your lips a even bigger wow effect, go around your lips with a really light concealer stick or highlighter pen, you can correct some mistakes with it as well.
